An idea that started in Nairobi, Kenya.
In Nairobi I had the opportunity to experience the end to end design and build process and saw the potential behind it, despite what some people would call a challenging environment :)
Now going through those first drafts, sketches and notes, there were some pretty bad ideas. But some really good ones as well.
My boss at the time, current mentor and friend, had a keen eye for business and always ready to talk about new ideas. We have spent several late nights in the office, me running through my ideas and him sharing his feedback which was from time to time very harsh.
What my experience in Africa taught me was, keep it simple and the devil is in the details.
Expanded on and started taking shape in Croatia.
Back in Europe I noticed similar potential and challenges the industry was facing. Talking to my work colleagues and university professors we came to a very simple conclusion. The greatest industry in the world, the construction industry, is lagging on the innovation side.
This is when we started to take it from words on a paper and started building the visual design. In the following days, together with our amazing design team, we were working hard to align on the right design which will communicate the right message to the market. But also that would help our future members use the platform with ease. UPBORE was taking shape. Very exciting times. After a long design phase, we finally settled on the look, the feel, the functionality of the platform and it was then up to our development team to bring it to life.
Finalized and launched in Germany.
At this point we had all the confirmation and confidence that UPBORE is the right platform for the construction industry.
After a long time we could finally use the platform. Test it out, showcase it to people in the industry, see if it is working as envisioned. Bringing a product to life is a process filled with challenges and at the end of the day very rewarding.
I am very proud on how far we came and what we accomplished. But that is nothing compared to what is coming ;)
